Solid Hardwood Floor or
Engineered Hardwood Floor?
If you’re in the market for a hardwood floor, but aren’t quite sure what the difference is between a solid hardwood floor and an engineered hardwood floor, you’re not alone. We get this question a lot. Many people are under the mistaken idea that an engineered floor is a “fake” wood floor (like a laminate or luxury vinyl) that is created to look like a real wood floor. In fact, engineered hardwood floors are real wood, just like a solid floor. The big difference is that an engineered floor consists of some kind of core (like plywood or MDF) topped with a layer of the desired species. Once it is installed, your feet will be touching the exact same thing with an engineered oak floor or a solid oak floor. Each is a great choice! Click here to learn more about engineered hardwoods.
